12 tags of 2016 / July

July already!  Can you believe that the summer, the month and the year is more than half way over?  It's been a chaotic summer, busy and one for the history books.  In good and unfortunately not good ways.  It is wonderful to have a relaxing distractions at times like these.

As usual, I didn't know where Tim's inspiration tag would lead.  This month's tag was based on two remix techniques: Watercolor Resist and Layered Words.

I am very happy with the finished tag. It was  so much fun playing with different color combinations for my tag.   Just last week I signed up for the Creative Chemistry 1o1 online class.  My reason for signing up was not because I thought I needed the information in this class. No, I truly thought it might just be a total rehash of everything I already know.  I really signed up because I  want to take Creative Chemistry 103 in August and the previous two classes are required.  My initial thought was that I knew everything that would be taught in the basic classes already.  After all,  I have been using these materials for years.  How very wrong I was.  Yes, I knew a lot, but the new things I learned explained many of my epic failures.  I wasn't truly appreciating the differences in the product line.   I have now gone back and tried techniques that failed because I was using the wrong product.  What a difference using the products as they were intended makes.  I am so pleased.  Can't wait to get to 103.

Thought you might like to see my other color palette for this tag. I think it is going to become a pretty card focal instead of a second tag.
The watermark at the top edge of the tag is a happy accident.  It happened as the I put the tag aside and some water on my work table wicked into the tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  Your comments, questions or suggestions are always most welcome.

  2. I love it, it's a very original stamp and the colours you've used with the two tags are great, it's fantastic how the effects and contrasts change when you use different tones.
